Asphalt Shingle Roofs can typically be fully installed in a day, although size of the roof can increase the timeline. 

Signs can vary widely what we recommend here at Nordic to look for is; sagging, curling, the obvious leak. Our typical lifespan in the field we are seeing with asphalt shingles is 15 to 25 years. While metal systems can last in excess of 50 years.

Most single family homes can be completed in one day! While a lot of commercial and multi-family housing project can take a week to three weeks. Variables are going to be height, steepness, number of layers and weather delays.

Tear off and removing the old layers is always our preferred option, as you can not see any underlying issues like soft spots or weak decking. It can affect your new system you just put on and decrease its integrity to hold up against wind and rain.

  • Asphalt is affordable and friendly to those on a budget.
  • Metal is long lasting and can withstand the elements for the years to come and our preffered choice.
  • Synthetic is a new product that hasn’t been proven to test the time 50 years later yet but is typically easier to install and cant be scratched or dented. 

This can vary widely by materials, complexity, region and contractor. 

Most locations require a permit, consult with your contractor regarding whether one is required or not for your region beforehand.
